Recent ActivityThe Active Directory team is responsible for the design, implementation and day-to-day management of the Knox County Schools Active Directory Domain, related services, and servers. Standardized on Windows Server 2008, Active Directory Domain Services provides the means to link user identities, computer accounts, printers, networks and many other aspects of the IT infrastructure. Active Directory facilitates the use of many other technologies to streamline desktop deployments, software updates, software deployment, computer management, etc. The Active Directory team has also embraced green initiatives by utilizing Hyper-V to virtualize dozens of servers on just a few physical machines, thereby reducing overall carbon footprint, cost, and management overhead.
